The Quintinha
The Quintinha de São João is the perfect example of an old and indeed actual typical Madeiran Quinta. With a history passed on through the generations- with some secrets yet to be revealed, the Quinta has witnessed various goings-on prior to becoming the illustrious five star hotel with 42 rooms that you see today. The “Quintinha”, as we affectionately call it, keeps its essence full of history that can be sensed as one ambles through its gardens and various corners of the interior of the hotel.

The doors of the Restaurant “A Morgadinha” open for breakfast and dinner to welcome guests and visitors alike. Prepare yourself for the best scenario… here you have a view of the garden! The overall ambiance, classic yet cosy, is a replica of the typical atmosphere of a traditional Madeiran house.
Heighten all the senses, with particular reference to your taste buds, as the specialty of the house is cuisine from the former Portuguese colony of Goa.
During the day it is the Bar “Vasco da Gama” or the “Bar da Piscina” that serve light meals, refreshments and, most importantly, the famous “Chá da Quintinha” (delicious full Afternoon Tea!)…
